Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced its intention to bid to host the 2034 Football World Cup. According to a report from state news agency SPA.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports of Saudi Arabia Said in a statement through the Saudi Press Agency that. “Hosting the 2034 World Cup will help us achieve our dream of becoming a world-leading sports nation. And it will be an important step in the transformation of the country.”

Reports from Sky Sports also indicate that they are initially interest in bidding to host the 2030 tournament.

The Daily Mail says the tournament is set to be co-hosted by six nations with Spain, Portugal and Morocco. While the first three games will be played in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.

It is believed that at first Saudi Arabia held talks with Egypt and Greece last year to offer to co-host the tournament. But on Wednesday they changed plans and said they wanted to bid as sole host for the 2034 tournament.

The 2030 FIFA World Cup will be held in 6 countries on 3 different continents, with Spain, Portugal and Morocco as host countries. Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay will also host their opening matches. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup.
